Wenger: Walcott Not Play Against Croatia

LONDON - Theo Walcott is certain to miss England in the crucial action in the World Cup qualification against Croatia. In addition, Walcott could also take part in the Arsenal squad against Manchester United this weekend.

The assurance was confirmed directly by the coach Arsenal, Arsene Wenger. Previously, Walcott was not able to appear in friendlies against Slovenia, on 5 September. Four days ago, England entertain Croatia at Wembley.

Wenger does not want to take risks by playing Walcott. This year 20 players still need time to heal injuries in pre-season action against Valencia.

"He's still injured and will miss against United. England? It will not. It is not realistic," said Wenger told The Daily Telegraph, Thursday (27/8/2009).

"Final appearance is now June and August. We still have to wait until he's completely recovered," added the French coach.

Absence Walcott against Croatia is a distinct disadvantage for the Three Lions. The reason, in the first action in Zagreb, Walcott Hat-trick scored by England 4-1 victory over the enemies.
